Based in the thriving market town of Northallerton, North Yorkshire, the club of approximately 80 members is renowned for its warm and friendly atmosphere.

Our members are drawn from a wide area across the Vale of Mowbray, including the market towns of Leyburn, Richmond, Stokesley and Thirsk; as well as interlying villages and the town of Northallerton itself.

The club was formed in 1976 and is affiliated to The Ramblers Association.

We are fortunate to be located in an area with extensive walking opportunities within a relatively short distance. The North York Moors lie to the east, the Yorkshire Dales to the west , and the Howardian Hills,  North Pennines and Teesdale are all within easy travelling distance. The Lake District and Northumberland are both within an hour and a half’s drive.

Each year the club organises an annual coach outing in June to either the Lake District, Northumberland or the Peak District. Three walks of varying length are offered and members and friends who choose not to walk are able to spend the day in the locality visiting sites of interest. We have visited a variety of centres including Hexham, Keswick, Chatsworth, Coniston and Alnwick.

Two short mid week breaks of 2 – 3 nights take place in May and September. In 2010 both the spring break and autumn break centred on the town of Ambleside in the Lake District.

Our annual dinner takes place in March/April at a central location.
